Les Roms constituent la plus grande minorité ethnique de Bulgarie. Un grand nombre d’entre eux sont exposés à l’exclusion sociale, à la discrimination, à la pauvreté et au chômage. Leur accès à la formation et aux soins médicaux est entravé par des obstacles sociaux, culturels et économiques. Avec sa contribution à l’UE élargie, la Suisse soutient des projets visant à améliorer les conditions de vie des Roms en Bulgarie.

Créer des emplois et offrir des perspectives grâce à la protection de l’environnement: telle est l’approche novatrice que la Suisse a soutenue en Bulgarie. Le projet «Linking Nature Protection and Sustainable Rural Development» (Protection de la nature et développement rural durable) a notamment encouragé l’agriculture biologique, l’élaboration de produits régionaux et le tourisme écologique dans la région la plus pauvre de l’Union européenne.

Home Care Services

Une jeune infirmière s'occupe d'une personne âgée dans un centre de soins.

L'allongement de l'espérance de vie en Bulgarie entraîne une augmentation du nombre de personnes âgées. Ce projet consiste à mettre en place dans quatre communes un système de soins à domicile afin que les aînés puissent continuer à vivre chez eux, dans leur environnement familier, même à un âge avancé. Les soins ambulatoires assurés par des professionnels permettent aux patients de conserver une certaine autonomie et améliorent donc la qualité de vie des personnes âgées handicapées ou souffrant de maladies chroniques.

Swiss Support for the introduction of the Dual-track principles in Bulgaria Vocational Education system

This project pursues a sustainable Bulgarian system of professional school education in which vocational education is tightly linked to the demand of the business. It is a vision, in which vocational schools are generating competent, knowledgeable and highly qualified workforce, able to respond to the immediate needs of the labor market and where companies are seen as responsible partners to the educational institutions. Dual Vocational Education and Training System (DVETS) is considered as one of the operational tools and entry point for the accomplishment of this vision.


Prevention of THB and the Identification, Protection, Support, Return & Reintegration of Victims of Trafficking

The Programme takes a comprehensive approach to improve the collaboration between Switzerland and Bulgaria in combating human trafficking. It undertakes activities to improve the main components of the fight against trafficking, namely prevention of trafficking, identification of victims, provision of protection to victims of trafficking, immediate, medium-term and long-term support to them and shall facilitate the return of victims to their country of origin.

Overcoming Institutional Capacity Gaps to Counter Corruption and Organized Crime

The proposed project aims to assist the government in reinvigorating its anti-corruption policies and increasing its capacity to counter the threat of organized crime, in particular complex economic crime. The project is directly targeting judiciary reforms and priorities entailed from the European Commission Reports on the Progress under the Cooperation and Verification Mechanism (CVM). The project is part of the thematic fund security in Bulgaria.
