Every day we see images of people who fled their homeland, only to tragically lose their lives. But what does it mean to be forced to abandon your home, work, family and country? The exhibition "Displaced" allows visitors to put themselves in the shoes of refugees and to get some idea of what it is like to be forced to flee one's home.

World cuisine gives us a taste of the SDC’s work around the globe. At the next Comptoir Suisse in Lausanne, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) will offer visitors typical culinary specialities from the countries where it works to improve living conditions for local people.

The Zürcher Theater Spektakel gives artists from the South and from the East the opportunity to present their productions to a Swiss audience and forge professional contacts. The SDC supports the festival as part of its cultural activities.

The 69th Locarno International Film Festival is taking place this August. The SDC is supporting the festival's Open Doors section which promotes film-makers from the South and East and helps with the production and distribution of independent feature films.

Discrimination and exclusion are human rights challenges at the core of sustainable development. These need to be overcome for the 2030 agenda’s central promise of «leaving no one behind» to be realised.
Think tank NORRAG and the SDC's Education Network are organising a conference on global governance in basic education and vocational training. It will be held on 22 June 2016 and is open to the public.
