Launch of online database for local governments

Since December 2018, policy makers, local governments and the public can access an online database with indicators for local governments available at the website of the Public Policy Secretariat.


International Migrants Day in Serbia: A different view

Migrants staying in reception centers in Serbia were in the focus of the Migrants’ day celebration in Obrenovac near Belgrade. There were no official speeches, but direct exchange with some 20 representatives of migrants accommodated in Serbia. The migrants showed their talents and spoke about their life stories. Younger migrants, already attending local elementary schools, were signing, reciting Serbian songs and dancing Serbian kolo, while the adults presented their personal hobbies.


Support to social science research community

Serbian municipalities and cities seek to improve financial management

Representatives of 60 local authorities from across Serbia met in Zlatibor for a conference organised by the Swiss supported Local Finance Reform Project (RELOF) that was devoted to improving public financial management. The conference focused on the findings of a study on the extent to which financial management and control (FMC) and internal audit (IA) have been implemented in Serbian local governments, recently performed by RELOF.

The Minister of European Integration, Jadranka Joksimovic, met with Ruth Huber, Vice Director of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and Head of the Department of Cooperation with Eastern Europe. They have talked about Swiss-Serbian cooperation so far and plans for the future. The aim of the cooperation is to strengthen an efficient functioning of institutions and to support reforms in Serbia that will contribute to the European integration process.
