Corona virus (COVID-19)

Dear Swiss citizens
On Wednesday, another evacuation flight to Europe, arranged by the German Embassy, with 22 Swiss citizens on board has left Nepal. Thanks to the close cooperation with the EU, and in particular Germany, France and the Czech Republic, more than 80 Swiss citizens were hereby able to return to Switzerland on various flights over the past two weeks.
No further evacuation flights are planned. The Swiss Embassy however still asks Swiss citizens remaining in Nepal, who have not done so yet, to please register with the Embassy by email (and kindly provide your full name, date of birth, number of passport, contact number and address in Nepal): firstname.lastname@example.org
Visa information: The Department of Immigration, where visa extensions are carried out, is temporarily closed. The Government of Nepal has taken the decision to temporarily wave the fee for the extension of visas, which could not be extended due to lockdown.
Lockdown: On Monday, 6 April 2020, the Government of Nepal has extended the nation-wide lockdown until 15 April 2020 while international flights remain suspended until 30 April 2020.
Further information: If you are sick and show symptoms such as fever, cough and difficulty breathing, please call the hotline under 977-9851255839, 977-9851255837 or 977-9851255834. After consultation with a medical staff per phone/hotline, visit the Sukraraj Infectious and Tropical Disease Hospital (STIDH) in Teku, Kathmandu, which has been designated by the Government of Nepal to treat Corona cases.
