Embassy of Switzerland in Mozambique
As measure against COVID ends as of July 6th the Swiss Federal Council has announced the introduction of a 10 days home quarantine for travelers arriving in Switzerland from certain countries.
The list of countries concerned will be regularly updated and can be consulted on the Website of the Federal Office of Public Health FOPH.
Mozambique is not on this list. While South Africa is on the list, a transit of max 24H there will not imply the resulting need of quarantine.
Embassy of Switzerland in Mozambique informs that it will be open to the public on Tuesdays and Thursday from 8h to 12h30 (local time).
To our partners and service providers, we kindly ask you to direct all correspondence addressed to the Embassy via email directly to the focal point in question or to our general email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
For appointments or any relevant matters, please contact us on the email (email@example.com), or by the telephone (+258 21 360500/2 ou +258 21 321337/8).
Thank you for your attention.
Return to Switzerland
The coronavirus is a worldwide pandemic. The Federal Council therefore advises against non-urgent travel abroad until further notice and calls on or recommends Swiss tourists abroad to return to Switzerland. The longer they wait to return, the more difficult it will be for them to do so because many countries have entry restrictions and airlines are reducing their services. The regulations vary from one country to another and are constantly changing.
The Migration Office communicated the following to the Swiss Embassy:
Tourists and short term resident must avoid being in an illegal status in Mozambique.
Before the expiry of the visa, it is possible to send a written request for a visa extension, stating the reasons (COVID-19, cancellation of flights…), relevant information e.g. visa number, date and port of entry, passport copy must be attached, as well as quarantine medical documentation, if received when entering Mozambique.
Each request will be examined individually.
The Embassy in Maputo can assist you in transmitting the documents, if necessary.
