Restricted access to the Embassy counters during pandemia COVID-19

Due to the current pandemic situation COVID-19 and in accordance with the decisions of the government of Kosovo, the consular activities of this Embassy continue but in a restricted manner. The access to our counters is limited.

Please note: Due to the existing entry restrictions for all non-essential travels to Switzerland from third countries, the Embassy is currently unable to accept new visa applications. It is therefore temporarily not possible to book an appointment for applying for a Visa C. 

As long as the entry restrictions remain in place, visa applications can only be accepted in exceptional cases if there are compelling reasons that justify one of the listed exceptions to the entry restrictions. Further information can be found here: State Secretariat for Migration SEM

From 3 August 2020 anyone with a partner in Switzerland will be able to
enter the country if they can provide proof of the relationship. Persons from countries and areas with an increased risk of infection will continue to be subject to quarantine.

Citizens of Kosovo that fulfill the criteria of a hardship case or wish to visit their partner in Switzerland will be able to book an appointment online at TLScontact

Citizens of North Macedonia and Albania that wish to visit their partner in Switzerland need to contact us per e-mail pristina.visa@eda.admin.ch
 
Please be informed that booking an appointment at TLScontact is only granted for cases that are listed on the exceptions to the entry restrictions for Switzerland. 

The representative contracts with our partner countries (France, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg) have been suspended until further notice. We kindly ask you to contact the Embassies /Representations of these countries directly regarding visa related matters. 

The Federal Council will decide on the relaxation of entry restrictions towards third countries at a later date and in consultation with the Schengen states.

The definitive arrangements for the easing of restrictions that begins on 15 June 2020 will be finalized in due course and published on this webpage. We therefore recommend that you check our website regularly for the latest information. Until then, entries for exclusively tourist purposes will remain prohibited.

Please note that entering the Embassy of Switzerland is only guaranteed on the basis of an appointment.

Requests for family reunification / marriage preparation / studies

Within the framework of a gradual relieving measures, this Embassy can now allocate a limited number of appointments for applications for family reunification, marriage preparation and for studying in Switzerland. Please contact the Regional Consular Center Western Balkans by e-mail (pristina.visa@eda.admin.ch) to arrange an appointment. Please send a scan of your passport as well as a short description of what kind of application it actually is. We kindly ask you to respect the existing restrictions of the local authorities. This Embassy accepts no responsibility for any violations, as this is the personal responsibility of each individual. This Embassy cannot issue any special permits to reach the Embassy.

What does the FDFA advise?

If you are neither a Swiss national nor a foreign national with a valid residency permit in Switzerland, please note that you will be refused boarding of the flight and entry into/transit through Switzerland unless you meet one of the few criteria described here:

For flights out of Kosovo please check the flight schedule of  the Airport in Pristina and contact directly the airlines for further information. Please be aware that the situation can change very quickly.
