Switzerland has a long tradition of cooperation between governmental and non-governmental stakeholders. The federal government intends to strengthen this tried-and-tested partnership in order to implement the 2030 Agenda.
Cooperation with the cantons
The federal government intends to strengthen institutional cooperation on sustainable development with specialist sustainability units and delegates at cantonal level. To this end, shared measures to implement the 2030 Agenda are being discussed, and efforts are under way to align cantonal sustainability strategies with the SDGs.
Partnerships with non-governmental stakeholders
To ensure effective cooperation with non-governmental stakeholders, the federal government has established an advisory group which will determine the form that cooperation will take and the areas it will cover, and will coordinate activities between the stakeholders concerned. It will also be involved in consultations on the Federal Council's outputs (reporting, Sustainable Development Strategy, etc.) and will coordinate responses.
