Partnership and Expert Fund - Romania

The "Partnership and Expert Fund - Romania" has the purpose to promote and support existing and new partnerships between Romanian and Swiss associations and communities in planning and implementing specific projects. It has also the purpose to offer specific Swiss expertise for Romanian institutions according to concrete demands.

Communities and associations in Romania, mostly in small villages in partnership with Swiss institutions in general and their population in particular.
Contesto
During the transition period, many of the new established Romanian NGOs and public institutions associated with supporting international NGOs in order to implement joint activities. Since Romanian civil society as well as many public institutions are still quite fragile and need support in order to become strong and credible actors, the partnership approach is a valuable instrument for the promotion of mutual understanding at individual and at associative level, as well as for the development and consolidation of the Romanian partner’s capacity.
Obiettivi
The Partnership and Expert Fund will promote and/or enhance institutional partnerships between Romanian and Swiss partners in order to contribute to the solution of specific development challenges, strengthen the capacities and structures of the Romanian institutional partners, benefit from Swiss added value and contribute to the strengthening of the partnerships.The Expert Fund will specifically mobilize Swiss expertise for short-term inputs to NGOs and public institutions.
Attività
Two specific projects are pre-defined in the Framework Agreement while a Block Grant is made available for individual partnership projects. Another Block Grant will finance specific inputs by Swiss experts.
Risultati
The expected results are:

  • Strenghtening of existing partnerships between Romania and Switzerland
  • Creation of new partnerships
  • Improvement of local living conditions by projects in infrastructure, training, social area.
  • Swiss expertise transferred to specific Romanian institutions through the Expert Fund
