Entrepreneurs, youth, unemployed people

The Carp Valley is characterized by high unemployment rate, comparative low level of education of inhabitants, high percentage of long-term unemployment, lack of agricultural processing plants, insufficient development of tourism, weak tourism offer, low profitability of agriculture production and poor employment opportunities for youth. The present economic crisis has accentuated the already critical economic situation.

The programme will stimulate the economic development in the Carp Valley. Existing activities and local potentials (for instance fish farming) will be developped and expanded. New jobs outside the farming sector and secure alternative sources of income for rural people will be created. Tourism offer in the Carp Valley will be improved in order to generate income and economic perspectives for the young generation.

The project will finance: (i): Activities supporting local development - Financing schemes; (ii): Construction of a Vocational Development Centre and educational activities targeting unemployed, entrepreneurs, and young; (iii): Promotional activities for the region and local products, services and tourism offer

The expected results are:

• New Vocational Development Centre (VDC) built and operational 
• 300 entrepreneurs provided with advisory services 
• 35 entrepreneurs benefitting of business subsidies
• 10’000 clients benefitting of the VDC’s services
• New jobs created for youth
