Eurochance for the Lubelskie Voivodeship

The programme includes the implementation of projects promoting and supporting grass-roots initiatives aimed at developing the tourism sector and providing to the inhabitants an additional and alternative source of income.

Context
The Lubelskie Voivodeship is a typically agricultural region considered among the most economically underdeveloped ones in Poland and in the EU with the lowest level of gross domestic product. However the region is attractive for tourism thanks to its cultural heritage and uncontaminated natural landscapes. This factor represents an important opportunity for the economic development of the region and an alternative source of income.
Goals
The programme aims at developing the tourism and investment attractiveness of the triangle Naleczow-Pulawi-Kazimierz Dolny. Inhabitants will be given an alternative source of income and should result in improved living conditions in the region and a consequent improvement of the socioeconomic situation in the region.
Activities
The project will finance: (i): Local Tourism Development Plan; (ii): Educational vocational schemes; (iii): Advisory services and business trainings for entrepreneurs; (iv): Grant schemes aimed at supporting local entrepreneurship with focus on tourism sector
Results
The expected results are:

  • 37 accommodation facilities renovated
  • 33 new business established
  • 106 grants disbursed (renovation of tourism facilities, commercial projects, cultural/leisure events)
  • 10 new tourism and cultural products 
  • 2000 training sessions for youth and adults
