Conference Inaugurating the Block Grant of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme

On March 31, 2011 at the Business Centre Club in Warsaw, there was held a conference inaugurating the Block Grant of the Swiss-Polish Cooperation Programme.

Among the invited speakers were: His Excellency Bénédict de Cerjat - Ambassador of Switzerland to Poland and Belarus, Małgorzata Wierzbicka - Director of the Department of Aid Programmes and Technical Assistance in the Ministry of Regional Development, Heinz Kaufmann - Director of the Swiss Contribution Office, Jan Jakub Wygnański - President of the Association for the Forum of Non-Governmental Initiatives and Andrzej Porawski - Director of the Association of Polish Cities office.

During the conference the Operator of the Grant - ECORYS Poland presented the objectives of the two priorities of the Block Grant, i.e. the NGO Fund and the Partnership Fund, and also presented the procedures and the timetable of the calls for proposals. The day of the conference was also the opening day of the first call for proposals under the NGO Fund. The call will last two months, until 31 May 2011. Non-governmental organizations meeting the criteria set out in the Handbook of Procedures for the NGO Fund are invited to submit applications. The Handbook is available on the official website of the Block Grant.
