The Swiss
contribution to Slovenia amounts to CHF 22 million. Between now and 2017, 8 projects designed to reduce economic and social disparities in Slovenia will be implemented. The project implementation is
accompanied by the SDC and the SECO in Berne, which are in close contact with the National Coordination Unit (NCU) in the government office.
Areas of Activities
Environment and infrastructure.
The rehabilitation and modernisation of basic infrastructure and the improvement of the environment
constitute the focus of this activity area. Switzerland will support measures which aim at improving energy efficiency and introducing renewable energy systems.
Promotion of the private sector.
In order to improve the regulation of the financial sector, specific measures in the field of corporate sector financial
reporting and auditing will be funded, thereby supporting the effective implementation and enforcement of the Acquis Communautaire of the European Union.
Human and social development.
In order to assure significant improvements in diagnosis and therapy in the field of oncology, the
acquisition and/or modernisation of medical equipment will be supported. Additional funds will be provided so as to strengthen the scientific potential through enhanced access to education and
research programmes. In particular, a Scholarship Fund for advanced degree and post-graduation programmes in Switzerland will be established.
Moreover, Switzerland will support partnerships between Swiss and Slovenian municipalities or regions as well as initiatives of the civil society contributing to social service provision and to
environmental concerns.
