Approval procedure: Enlargement contribution to Bulgaria and Romania

On 1 January 2007 the European Union (EU) welcomed Bulgaria and Romania as new member states. Switzerland decided on December 7, 2009 to support these two countries with the Enlargement Contribution. On 23 June, 2010 the Federal Council approved the bilateral framework agreements with Bulgaria and Romania. The contribution totals CHF 257m over a five-year period. |
